History of
Dähler Family

What connection is there between the untamed Ivory Coast, the dreamlike Switzerland, and the biodiverse Costa Rica?

These wonderful countries were home to our family at different times. Each one shaped our spirit and allowed us to grow as both individuals and professionals, developing sustainable businesses with social responsibility and respect for the environment.

My father, Johann Dähler, was a great visionary. Over 30 years ago, he traveled to Africa, where he embarked on his adventure in pineapple cultivation in Ivory Coast, making him globally known and earning him the title of the Pineapple King. Exporting his product to all parts of the world, he solidified his career as a robust and reliable entrepreneur.

His company had to close its operations due to circumstances beyond his control, but far from being discouraged, he sought a new opportunity, and that's how he started his plantations in Costa Rica. The entire family supported him in his life project for several years. My siblings and I took charge of the plantation, and although we are very successful, we always seek new opportunities.

I am Stéphane Dähler, and I am fortunate to have lived on three very diverse and rich continents. I was born in Ivory Coast, a country I know like the back of my hand. Then, I spent my adolescence in Switzerland, which is my second home. Currently, I reside in Costa Rica, which welcomed me along with my father, mother, and siblings. Today, I am in charge of the custom tourism business.

Would you like to enjoy two of the most magical and incomparably beautiful destinations like Switzerland and Central America, just as a true native would? In response to this question, Swiss Tropical Tourism was born, a travel agency with a different and innovative concept that aims to create unique and unforgettable experiences for travelers through customized tours that will be forever etched in their memory.

Later on, I will tell you about the work we do at the agency. Our family continues to write its story. My father returned to Ivory Coast and is cultivating small plantations for rubber and chocolate. He financed a local clinic and school. It is important for us to give back to the country that has welcomed us by returning some of the great generosity that has been bestowed upon us over these years.

My sister Andrea is accompanying my father and mother in Africa, while my brothers Michael and Jan are managing the fruit business. A very important part of this story that I have shared with you is the strong will of my mother Jolanda, who with her diligence and humility has left an indelible mark on our family, being a pillar that has accompanied us on this journey. The life of our family has been filled with joyful moments and very challenging periods, but all these experiences have allowed us to enjoy and cherish every moment with total intensity. We have learned valuable lessons, met wonderful people, and become aware of the value that nature holds and its importance to humanity.

Remembering so many moments brings nostalgia. My life in Africa, Europe, and America has given me a great perspective and the fortune to broaden my horizons. We never felt like strangers in any of these places that were our home. This was crucial to the concept I wanted to convey in the travel agency. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey of experiences and memories.
